Chiropractic care at ChiroMed is hands-on treatment of the spine and the joints around it. We treat the mechanical fault causing your symptoms, not just the ache it produces. Dr. Justin Bergin, DC examines you, takes X-rays when they would change the plan, and tells you what he found before any adjusting begins. We offer three chiropractic services, and all three are available at both offices.

Chiropractic Care
The adjustment is the foundation of everything else here. Dr. Bergin treats restricted and misaligned spinal joints that interfere with the nervous system. He sees children through to older adults, and picks the technique to suit the person on the table instead of running one protocol on everybody. Pregnancy Chiropractic
Pregnancy changes the load on your pelvis and lower back faster than your body adapts, and the usual advice is rest and paracetamol. Prenatal adjusting uses positioning and technique modified for a pregnant patient. The aim is to keep your pelvis moving and your low back bearable through the third trimester and after the birth. Cold Laser Therapy
Cold laser, also called low-level laser therapy, is a light-based treatment applied to soft tissue that has stopped settling on its own. It is painless, it takes minutes, and it is usually layered onto an adjusting plan rather than sold as a standalone course. What is a red flag in chiropractic?
A red flag is a sign that your problem is not mechanical and belongs with another provider first. Examples are unexplained weight loss, fever with back pain, and loss of bladder or bowel control. So are weakness in an arm or leg that is getting worse, pain that is worse lying down, and a history of cancer. Dr. Bergin checks for all of these at your examination. If one shows up, he tells you and refers you rather than treating you.
What is the average cost of a chiropractic adjustment in Florida?
Published averages move around a lot, because they mix self-pay visits, insurance copays and appointments with several services in them. What matters is what applies to you. Chiropractic care here bills insurance, and our team verifies your benefits before your first visit so you know your copay in advance. Can a chiropractor fix a pinched nerve?
Often, yes. It works when the nerve is being irritated by a mechanical problem: a restricted joint, a disc pressing on the nerve root, or tight soft tissue around it. Treatment works on the structure causing the pressure rather than numbing the symptom. If the nerve root is badly compressed, decompression or a referral may be the better route. Dr. Bergin will tell you that after he reads your X-rays.
Why do doctors discourage chiropractors?
Some do, usually because practice varies a lot and because the evidence is thin for claims outside the muscles and joints. Some of that criticism is fair. We stay inside what chiropractic is good at, check for red flags, and take X-rays before adjusting when they would change the plan. When the problem is not mechanical, we refer you out. We also put the reasoning in writing so your physician can read it.
Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor in Florida?
No. Florida allows direct access to a chiropractic physician, so you can book an evaluation yourself at either office. Some insurance plans still require a referral before benefits apply. Our team checks that when it verifies your coverage, before your first visit.
