Spinal Decompression
Spinal decompression is computer-controlled traction that creates negative pressure inside a disc. That gentle pull encourages bulging material to draw back in and helps nutrients move into the disc. Neuromed Electroanalgesia
Neuromed electroanalgesia delivers controlled electrical stimulation aimed at nerve pain that has not responded to medication or physical therapy. It is run as a course rather than a single session, and it targets circulation and symptom control in the feet, hands and limbs. It is the service behind our peripheral neuropathy work. Post-Surgical Recovery
Surgery fixes a structure. It does not restore the movement lost while that structure was protected. Post-surgical recovery here is a graded program of mobility work, soft tissue treatment and progressive loading, timed around your surgeon's restrictions rather than against them. Pelvic Floor Recovery
Pelvic floor problems are common, rarely discussed and very treatable. Weak or overactive muscles down there show up as leaking, urgency, pelvic pain or a low back that feels unsteady. The usual advice stops at exercises nobody shows you how to do. This program treats the pelvis as part of the spine it belongs to. Does spinal decompression actually work?
It works for a particular group of people. Your pain has to be coming from pressure inside a disc, confirmed on X-ray or MRI, with nothing that needs a surgeon first. It is not a general back pain treatment, and anyone who sells it as one is overselling. Dr. Bergin reads your films before he recommends it. If you are not a good candidate he will tell you, rather than start a course anyway.
Will insurance pay for spinal decompression?
Coverage varies by plan and by service, and it is one of the least consistent items in musculoskeletal care. Some plans cover a portion under a physical medicine benefit, some exclude it outright. Our front desk checks your specific policy and tells you what applies before you commit to anything, and payment plans are available for self-pay care.
How do you know if your spine needs to be decompressed?
Three things have to line up. First, symptoms that match a disc: pain traveling into a leg or arm, numbness, or weakness that follows a nerve. Second, imaging that shows a disc pressing where your symptoms say it should be. Third, a history of rest, medication or therapy that has not held. One without the others is not enough, and your examination and report of findings are what sort that out.
Do you need a referral to go to a pain management clinic?
Not here. You can book an evaluation directly at either office. Some insurance plans require a referral before benefits apply, which our team checks when it verifies your coverage. Bring any imaging you already have, because a recent MRI or set of X-rays often shortens the first visit considerably.
What is the difference between pain management and a pain clinic?
In common use, a pain management practice usually means injections, nerve blocks and prescription medication managed over time. We do neither. The work here is mechanical: take pressure off the structure, treat the irritated nerve, and rebuild the movement you lost. If an injection or a surgical opinion is genuinely the right next step, we tell you and refer you.
Does Medicare cover this kind of care?
Coverage varies by plan and by service. Medicare treats chiropractic manipulation differently from therapies delivered by a device, and supplement plans differ again.
