Sexual Health at ChiroMed

How long have you been not asking anyone?

Most people come in after a long time not asking anyone. That delay is the most common part of the story, and the least necessary.

What changes in the bedroom is usually physical and usually measurable. It is often the first visible sign of something worth looking at elsewhere in the body.

What happens if you do ask?

ChiroMed treats this the way it treats a knee. You are examined, you are told what is likely going on, and you are offered a plan that starts without a prescription.

The core of it is acoustic wave therapy, and ChiroMed is an approved GAINSWave provider.

Will anyone find out you came in?

It is discreet by design: a private consultation room, a confidential intake, and self-pay care that is never itemized to a third-party insurer.

Dr. Justin Bergin, DC has 22 years of these conversations, and the vitality and performance side of the practice exists because they kept coming up.

It is one of the treatments offered through our wellness center.

What sexual health actually does

Sexual wellness care at ChiroMed uses acoustic wave therapy to support blood flow in the treated tissue. It is delivered under the GAINSWave protocol, with the Omniwave device. It is a non-surgical, drug-free-first option for men and women. Nothing is injected, nothing is prescribed and nothing enters the body.

GAINSWave is the protocol name used by the network of providers trained in this application of acoustic wave therapy. ChiroMed is an approved GAINSWave provider.

That describes training and protocol. It is not a promise about your outcome.

The same physics is used on tendons and joints elsewhere in this practice, which is why the Omniwave device serves both lines of work.

Where a hormonal or medical cause is suspected, you are told and referred. No hormone therapy, no testosterone programs and no prescribing of any kind happen on this service line.

At ChiroMed the device is GAINSWave and Omniwave, named here on purpose: the category name covers several very different machines and you deserve to know which one is in the room.

How it works

  1. The waves

Low-intensity pressure waves are delivered through the skin into the tissue being treated. Nothing is injected and nothing enters the body.

  2. The target

The waves are aimed at blood flow in the tissue they are applied to. That is the whole of what this is for, in women as much as in men.

  3. The session

It is applied in the office. You stay awake, you dress, and you leave without downtime.

Who sexual health helps

  • Men whose erections have become less reliable, where blood flow is the likely story
  • Women with changes in arousal, sensitivity or comfort
  • Libido that has dropped in a way that does not match how you feel about your partner
  • Post-menopausal change that has been managed privately and indefinitely
  • Bladder leaks that sit alongside those changes
  • Anyone who wants a drug-free starting point before tablets, injections or surgery

Who it does not help

  • A sudden change, pain, bleeding or a visible structural change, all of which need a specialist
  • Symptoms whose likely cause is hormonal
  • Symptoms whose likely cause is neurological
  • Symptoms driven by a medication you are taking, which belongs with whoever prescribed it
  • Anyone seeking hormone therapy, a testosterone program or a prescription, none of which happen on this service line

Conditions we treat with it

You can read more about each one. The examination decides which of them applies to you.

What We Treat, for Men and for Women

For men

Erections that have become less reliable. Erections that arrive and do not stay. Reduced firmness, and low libido that crept in across years rather than weeks.

Where blood flow in the tissue is the issue, acoustic wave therapy is the drug-free option. Read changes in sexual function and what drives them first.

For women

Changes in arousal and sensitivity. Discomfort. Post-menopausal change. Libido that has dropped in a way that does not match how you feel about your partner.

These are treated as clinical concerns rather than something to manage privately and indefinitely, in the same private consultation the men get.

Bladder leaks that come with it

Leaks with a cough, a sneeze or a laugh often sit alongside the changes above.

If that is the more pressing problem, the page on bladder leaks and what can be done about them covers it properly.

Why patients choose it

It starts without a prescription

Most men arrive having already tried a tablet, or having decided not to. A drug-free starting point keeps the pills available later rather than making them the only door.

Nothing enters the body

No needle, no implant, no operation, no anesthetic. The list of risks is short.

Men and women are both treated

Arousal, sensitivity, discomfort and post-menopausal change are treated here rather than tacked on. Most clinics in both markets serve one half of the population.

Your visit stays private

Private consultation, confidential intake, and self-pay care that generates no itemized claim. In a small community that is the reason some people come at all.

Cost, insurance and financing

We publish no price for this care, because the course depends on what the consultation finds. You get the full cost in writing before anything starts.

The one published price

Consultation, Exam, X-Rays (If Needed) & Report of Findings: Only $47

What affects the cost

  • How long a course the consultation supports for your situation
  • Whether treatment is aimed at one concern or is part of a wider vitality plan
  • Whether other services at the practice are running alongside it
  • Whether follow-up review visits form part of the recommendation

What a course includes

  • The private consultation and assessment
  • A written recommendation with the full cost before anything begins
  • The in-office sessions themselves
  • Review visits as the course progresses

Payment:

Sexual wellness care is self-pay. Nothing about it is itemized to a third-party insurer, which is one of the reasons people choose it.

If chiropractic care is part of your plan, that part can be billed to insurance. We verify those benefits before your first visit.

Medicare coverage varies by plan and by service, and for this care you should expect that it does not apply. The front desk will tell you exactly what applies before you commit to anything.

Payment plans are available for self-pay care. Ask the front desk which plan fits your course of care.

New patients start here: Consultation, Exam, X-Rays (If Needed) & Report of Findings: Only $47.

What Changes With Age, and What Does Not

Erections change with age. They take longer to arrive, need more direct physical stimulation, and may be less firm than at thirty.

None of that is a malfunction. It is the ordinary result of circulation, nerve sensitivity and hormone levels shifting across decades.

What is not ordinary is erections stopping. A reliable erection depends on blood arriving in volume and staying there.

When that stops happening at all, the usual explanation is a problem with the blood supply. That is a health finding rather than a personal failing. The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases states plainly that erectile dysfunction is not a routine part of aging.

When it is a reason to see your physician

The small arteries in the penis narrow earlier than the arteries in the heart. That can make this the first visible sign of a wider vascular problem.

Alongside high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes or a family history of heart disease, it deserves a physician's attention.

What can be done without a prescription

Blood pressure, blood sugar, weight, alcohol, smoking, sleep and activity all move erectile function measurably. Several common prescriptions contribute and are worth reviewing with whoever wrote them.

Acoustic wave therapy is the in-office, drug-free option. Being seventy-five is not a diagnosis.

Blood Sugar, Circulation and Sexual Function

Search for sexual dysfunction and diabetes together and you find two separate conversations. In a clinic they are usually one patient.

The small vessels go first

Diabetes damages small blood vessels and small nerves first. The process that produces numbness and burning in the feet also reduces blood flow and sensation elsewhere.

Sexual function is one of the earliest changes many people notice after years of drifting blood sugar. Circulation problems without diabetes do the same more slowly.

Why it matters where you are seen

That is the argument for being seen somewhere that treats more than one line of work. Nerve care, metabolic care and this service run in the same building.

A patient whose real problem is blood sugar gets told so, rather than sold a course aimed at a symptom of it. How vitality and performance care is structured here maps those connections.

How We Keep Your Visit Private

Nothing about this is discussed at a front desk. The consultation happens in a private room with the door closed, and the intake stays inside your clinical file.

Self-pay care carries a real privacy benefit. This care does not bill insurance, so no claim is generated.

Nothing is itemized on an insurer's statement, and nothing arrives at your house describing what you were treated for. In a community where people know each other, that is the reason some patients come at all.

The equipment this uses

Omniwave shockwave therapy being applied to a seated patient.
The same acoustic wave platform used elsewhere in the practice, applied in a seated position.

Why ChiroMed

Who else near you offers this?

Most clinics offering this sell one thing, usually to one half of the population, often from an address in another city.

ChiroMed is a local practice. Dr. Justin Bergin, DC has spent 22 years treating spines, joints, nerves and metabolic health.

Why does the rest of the practice matter here?

The same acoustic wave physics used on a stubborn tendon is used here.

That range is why a patient whose blood sugar is drifting gets told so here. A clinic with nothing else to offer would sell them sessions instead.

Underneath all of this is usually circulation, and circulation runs through the whole practice. Read the vitality and performance line at this clinic, then book the private consultation and ask the question.

Sexual Health in recent research

These sources are independent of this practice and none of them endorses it. They are listed so the reasoning behind the care can be checked rather than taken on trust.

  1. Low-intensity shockwave therapy for erectile dysfunction

Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, 2025

Cochrane found a small short term effect on erectile function that men may not judge clinically important, at low certainty, with several trials industry funded.

  2. Erectile Dysfunction (ED) Guideline

    American Urological Association, 2018

The urology guideline states that low-intensity shockwave therapy should be considered investigational, which is exactly how it is presented to you here.

  3. Treatment for Erectile Dysfunction

National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, 2024

The NIH summary of established treatments, which is the comparison any newer option should be measured against before you spend money on it.

Compare your options

Real alternatives exist, including ones this practice does not perform. Here is the honest set.

Option What it isTypically considered whenInvasive?Offered at ChiroMed?
Acoustic wave therapy, GAINSWave and Omniwave Our approach Low-intensity pressure waves delivered through the skin into the treated tissue, aimed at circulation. You want a drug-free starting point, or tablets have been unsatisfactory or unsuitable.No. Delivered at the surface, nothing enters the body.Yes
Oral PDE5 inhibitors Prescription tablets taken before activity that support blood flow for a period of hours. A man wants an on-demand option and has been medically cleared to take one.No, though they carry real interactions, particularly with nitrates. Not performed here. No prescribing happens on this service line. Appropriate for many men, prescribed by a physician who has checked your heart medication and your general health first.
Penile injection therapy Medication injected directly into the tissue before activity, prescribed and taught by a specialist. Oral medication has not worked and a stronger on-demand option is wanted.Yes. A self-administered injection each time. Not performed here. Appropriate when a urologist judges that tablets have failed and a man is willing and able to self-inject.
Penile implant surgery A surgically placed device, fitted by a urological surgeon under anesthesia. Other treatments have failed and a permanent solution is wanted.Yes. Surgery, and it is not reversible. Not performed here. Genuinely the right answer for some men, and a decision to make with a urologist after the reversible options have been tried.
Urology referral Assessment by a specialist physician in male urinary and reproductive health. There is pain, a structural change, blood, a sudden onset, or a suspected hormonal or neurological cause.No. An appointment and an assessment. Not performed here, and sometimes the most useful thing we can suggest. We will tell you when a specialist opinion is the right next step.

Four of these five are somebody else's job. What we offer is a drug-free starting point, and a straight answer about whether you should be seeing a specialist instead.

Is sexual health right for someone like you?

Candidacy is decided at the examination, not on a web page. These are the general lines.

Likely a good candidate if

  • Erections have become less reliable gradually rather than overnight
  • Tablets have worked poorly, worn off, or you would rather not take them
  • Blood flow is the likely story, which the consultation will help establish
  • You want a drug-free option first and are willing to attend a course of sessions
  • You are a woman experiencing changes in arousal, sensitivity, comfort or libido and want a non-surgical option
Nobody is enrolled here without a consultation, and some people leave that consultation with a referral instead of a plan. Dr. Justin Bergin, DC would rather send you to the right person than keep you for a course that was never going to be the answer.

We will point you elsewhere if

  • The change came on suddenly, or there is pain, bleeding or a visible structural change, all of which need a specialist
  • An active infection or an open skin lesion in the area to be treated
  • You take anticoagulants or have a bleeding disorder, without clearance from the prescribing physician
  • An implant or device is already in place in the area
  • The likely cause is hormonal, neurological or medication-related, which needs assessment by a physician first

When we are not the right answer, we say so, and connect you with someone who is.

Not sure? That is exactly what the examination answers

Your first visit

What to expect, step by step

The first visit is a private consultation and an examination. Dr. Justin Bergin, DC asks about your health, your medications and what has changed, because sexual symptoms often point at circulation or blood sugar.

He explains what he found and which options fit. The course and its cost are set out in writing before anything starts.

  1. A clinician and patient talking across the consulting desk at the first visit.
    01

    A private consultation

You are seen in a consultation room with the door closed and asked what changed, when, and what else is going on with your health. Nothing is discussed at a front desk.

  2. A ChiroMed treatment room with a drop-piece adjustment table, a rolling stool and a wall-mounted monitor.
    02

    Assessment and referral

The consultation looks at the likely cause. Where blood flow is the story, acoustic wave therapy is discussed. Where something else is indicated, including a hormonal, neurological or medication cause, you are told and pointed at the right specialist.

  3. A clinician walking a patient through their findings on screen.
    03

    What happens in a session

Treatment is delivered in the office with the device applied to the skin. No anesthetic is needed, nothing is injected, and you dress and leave without downtime. The course is set at the consultation.

  4. Dr. Justin Bergin reviewing progress with a patient at ChiroMed
    04

Review as the course goes on

You are asked what has actually changed, and the answer decides whether the plan continues, changes or stops. If it is not working for you, you will hear that from us rather than be sold another round of it.

  5. An adjustment that is not aimed at a specific finding is just noise. We treat what the exam and the X-ray tell us to treat.

What is the fastest way to cure erectile dysfunction?

There is no cure, and any clinic saying otherwise has stopped being careful with you.

What exists are treatments: some fast and temporary, some slower and aimed at the circulation underneath.

Tablets work within the hour and stop when they wear off. Acoustic wave therapy is the slower route, aimed at blood flow in the tissue.

the clinic team
What kind of doctor should I see for erectile dysfunction?

Start with someone who looks for the cause rather than reaching for a prescription pad.

A urologist is right where there is pain, sudden onset, a structural change or a suspected hormonal problem. A primary care physician should review your medications and cardiovascular health.

A non-surgical clinic like this one suits a drug-free option assessed first.

the clinic team
Can a 75 year old man get hard?

Yes, commonly. Erections often change with age, taking longer and needing more direct stimulation, and that pattern alone is normal.

The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases is explicit that erectile dysfunction is not a routine part of aging.

Erections stopping altogether usually signals a treatable circulation or health problem.

the clinic team
How to stay hard without Viagra?

The non-drug routes are unglamorous and they work for some men.

Blood pressure, blood sugar, weight, sleep, alcohol, smoking and activity all change erectile function measurably. Review your prescriptions with whoever wrote them, since several contribute.

Acoustic wave therapy is the in-office option aimed at blood flow in the treated tissue.

the clinic team
Is ChiroMed an approved GAINSWave provider?

Yes. ChiroMed is an approved GAINSWave provider, which means the practice is trained in that protocol for delivering acoustic wave therapy.

It describes training and method rather than a guaranteed result, and we will not stretch it further.

How the protocol would apply to you belongs in a private consultation rather than on a website.

the clinic team
Is this covered by insurance?

No. Sexual wellness care here is self-pay, and Medicare coverage varies by plan and by service but should not be expected to apply.

Chiropractic care at this practice does bill insurance and is verified separately.

For many patients the self-pay arrangement is part of the appeal, because nothing is itemized to a third-party insurer.
