“I have had sich a great experience seeing Dr. Bergin. When other offices have told me I just had muscle damage or the only thing they could do for me was give shots, he said he had others ways to manage my pain and numbness, along with improving mobility. And he was right! I feel so much better! With such friendly staff and welcoming office environment, it makes for an amazing experience. I'll definitely continue seeing him!”

Neuromed Electroanalgesia at ChiroMed
Have you already been offered gabapentin?
Burning feet at bedtime. Hands that go numb holding a phone. A leg that tingles from the hip down and never quite settles.
Most people arriving with nerve symptoms have already been offered gabapentin or duloxetine, taken it for a while, and disliked how it made them feel. Some were told nothing more could be done.
What is being promised here, and what is not?
Dr. Justin Bergin, DC takes a different route, and he is careful about what he promises. Neuromed electroanalgesia is one of the main tools inside the disc and nerve rehabilitation program at this practice.
Its job is your comfort and your daily function. That is stated plainly before you spend anything.
It is one of the treatments offered through our pain control clinic.
What Neuromed electroanalgesia actually does
Electroanalgesia is a drug-free treatment that delivers electrical stimulation through the skin. It changes how pain signals are carried and supports circulation in the treated area. At ChiroMed it is delivered on the Neuromed system. There are no needles, no prescription and no downtime afterward.
Nerve symptoms are difficult to treat. The tissue involved is slow, poorly supplied with blood, and often irritated at more than one point along its length.
A foot can burn because of a metabolic problem in the small nerves themselves. It can burn because a nerve root is compressed in the low back. It can burn because the nerve is trapped somewhere along its path, or because of all three at once.
Treating one of those and calling the job done is why so many people have already seen two or three providers before they get here. The examination here goes looking for all of them.
Electrical stimulation works on the signal and on the local environment. A clinical reference chapter on transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation reports moderate-certainty evidence for pain reduction during and immediately after treatment, with no serious adverse events.
It places the treatment as one part of a wider plan rather than a stand-alone answer. That is exactly how we use it here.
That gives us a set of honest targets, and they are the things patients want back. They are measurable, and they are what your review point is set against.
It does not undo established nerve damage. Nerve damage that has been present for years is not undone by any therapy available today, here or anywhere else.
A provider who tells you otherwise is selling something. What can change is your symptom load, your daily function, and how well the underlying causes are managed alongside the doctor treating them.
At ChiroMed the device is Neuromed, named here on purpose: the category name covers several very different machines and you deserve to know which one is in the room.
How it works
The stimulation
Electrical stimulation is delivered through the skin over the area being treated. Nothing is injected and nothing is added to your prescription list.
The signal
The stimulation changes how pain signals are carried from that area. That is where a reduction in burning and tingling comes from.
The local circulation
Stimulation also supports circulation in the treated tissue, which is slow and poorly supplied with blood at the best of times.
Who Neuromed electroanalgesia helps
- Burning in the feet at night
- Hours of tingling across the day
- Balance that is worse on a dark floor
- Sleep that your feet keep interrupting
Who it does not help
- Established nerve damage, which no therapy available today undoes
- The underlying driver, which stays with the physician managing it
- Compression at the nerve root on its own, which needs decompression alongside
- Anyone wanting a promise instead of a measured review date

Conditions we treat with it
You can read more about each one. The examination decides which of them applies to you.
Why patients choose it
No prescription and no sedation
Nothing is added to your medication list and nothing makes you foggy in the afternoon. For patients already managing several prescriptions, that is frequently the deciding factor.
It targets the symptoms you actually complain about
Burning, tingling and numbness are what interfere with sleep and balance. The plan is built around those, and they are what gets measured at your review.
It is part of a wider nerve plan
Where testing shows the nerve root is also compressed at the spine, decompression runs alongside it. Where the tissue is irritable, cold laser supports it. One doctor, one plan, one set of records.
You are told the realistic targets up front
You are told what the plan aims at before you spend anything, and you are told what this treatment cannot do.
The equipment is named, not hidden
The system used on you is the Neuromed, and it is named here before you book. You can read about it and ask questions about it rather than take a protocol on trust.
Cost, insurance and financing
Neuromed electroanalgesia is a self-pay service. What it costs you depends on the plan the examination produces. These are the things that change it.
The one published price
Consultation, Exam, X-Rays (If Needed) & Report of Findings: Only $47
What affects the cost
- How many regions are being treated, for example both feet against one hand
- Whether decompression or laser runs alongside the Neuromed sessions
- The length of the course set at the report of findings
- Whether imaging is needed to check the nerve root
- Whether chiropractic care forms part of the plan, since that portion can be billed to a plan
What a course includes
- Consultation with Dr. Justin Bergin, DC
- Sensory, reflex and balance examination
- X-rays if they are clinically indicated
- Report of findings with written targets and a review date
Payment:
Neuromed electroanalgesia is self-pay. If chiropractic care is part of your plan, that portion can be billed to insurance.
Medicare coverage varies by plan and by service, and our front desk will tell you exactly what applies before you commit to anything.
New patients start with the consultation, exam, X-rays if needed, and report of findings for $47. Payment plans are available for self-pay care, and the front desk tells you which plan fits your course of care.

Why ChiroMed
Who leads your case, and what does he tell you first?
Dr. Justin Bergin, DC has 22 years in practice and two Central Florida offices. He will tell you what a treatment cannot do before he tells you what it can.
We name the Neuromed system deliberately, because patients being treated for nerve symptoms are rarely told what is being used on them.
What if your symptoms have more than one cause?
Nerve cases almost never have one cause. Spinal decompression, cold laser, Omniwave shockwave, chiropractic care and the functional and metabolic side of the clinic all sit on one plan under one roof.
A case with three drivers gets treated for three of them, not for the one your provider happens to sell.
If your symptoms start at the spine as well as the foot, the way disc and nerve cases are sequenced here matters.
Where you would be treated
How often will you be making the drive?
Nerve plans mean regular visits, and both offices run the same service lineup.
In Polk County, Suite 13 on S. Florida Avenue is reached easily from Highland City, Christina, Dixieland and Cleveland Heights. The Polk Parkway takes most of the pain out of the drive.
What if the Lady Lake office is closer?
The Lady Lake office on North US-441 sits just above CR 466. It serves Summerfield, Oxford, Wildwood, Fruitland Park and the wider Lake, Sumter and Marion county communities.
The parking sits level with the door, which matters when your balance is part of the complaint.
In Lakeland that is 6595 Florida Ave S, Suite 13, Lakeland, serving Polk County. In the Villages market the office is at 929 US-441 #404, Lady Lake, serving Lake County, Sumter County, Marion County. Dr. Justin Bergin, DC performs the examination personally at both, 22 years into practice.

Compare your options
Real alternatives exist, including ones this practice does not perform. Here is the honest set.
| Option | What it is | Typically considered when | Invasive? | Offered at ChiroMed? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Neuromed electroanalgesia Our approach | Electrical stimulation through the skin aimed at pain signalling and local circulation | Nerve pain, numbness or tingling where you want a drug-free option measured at a review point | No | Yes |
| Spinal decompression | Cycled traction that lowers disc pressure and eases load on a nerve root | Testing shows the nerve is being compressed at the spine rather than only in the limb | No | Yes |
| Low-level laser therapy | Light delivered into tissue to influence cellular activity and reduce pain | The treated area is irritable and needs a gentler input alongside the main plan | No | Yes |
| Prescription nerve medication such as gabapentin or duloxetine | Drug therapy that alters how nerve pain signals are processed centrally | Symptoms are severe and a prescriber judges the trade-off in side effects acceptable | No | Not prescribed here. A legitimate option that belongs with your physician |
| Nerve block or surgical decompression of a nerve | Injection near the nerve, or an operation to release the structure compressing it | A single confirmed compression point with measurable weakness that has failed conservative care | Yes | Not performed here. Appropriate when testing localizes the problem to one structure that will not settle |
Two of these five are outside what this clinic does, and both are right for some patients. If your case needs one of them, you will be told, rather than kept on a course of visits here.
Is Neuromed electroanalgesia right for someone like you?
Candidacy is decided at the examination, not on a web page. These are the general lines.
Likely a good candidate if
- Burning, tingling or numbness in the feet, legs, hands or arms
- You disliked how prescription nerve medication made you feel, or would rather avoid it
- Symptoms that disturb your sleep or make you unsteady in the dark
- Nerve pain that testing traces to an irritated nerve root as well as the limb
- You want honest targets and a review date rather than an open-ended package
We will point you elsewhere if
- You have an implanted pacemaker, defibrillator or neurostimulator
- You are pregnant
- There is rapidly progressing weakness, foot drop, or loss of bladder or bowel control
- You have an open wound, active infection or unexplained swelling in the area to be treated
- You have not had the underlying cause investigated, for example blood sugar or thyroid testing
When we are not the right answer, we say so, and connect you with someone who is.
Your first visit
What to expect, step by step
The first visit is an examination of the nerve, not a session on the machine. Dr. Justin Bergin, DC checks sensation, strength and circulation, and asks what your symptoms do across a day.
He explains what he found and whether Neuromed is likely to help you. If it is, the course is planned at your report of findings.

What is the most successful treatment for neuropathy?
There is no single winner, and be wary of any clinic that names one. Managing the underlying driver comes first.
That is usually blood sugar, thyroid, B12, alcohol intake or a medication side effect, and that work belongs with your physician.
After that, the therapies with the most support are drug-free approaches aimed at symptoms and function, plus movement and balance work. Prescription medication is an option where a prescriber judges it worthwhile.
Our plans combine electroanalgesia with the rest of the clinic, and we measure your symptoms at a set review date rather than promising an outcome.
Where is the best place to get treatment for neuropathy?
Look for three things rather than a brand. First, a provider who insists the underlying cause has been investigated and will tell you what to ask your physician for.
Second, written targets in plain language, symptoms and function rather than vague improvement, with a date when they get re-scored.
Third, a clear price and no pressure to buy a long package on the first visit. A clinic that does all three is worth your time whether or not it is this one.
Does Medicare cover neuropathy treatment?
Coverage varies by plan and by service, and our front desk will tell you exactly what applies before you commit to anything.
Electroanalgesia here is self-pay, and you are told that before you book. Payment plans are available for self-pay care, and the front desk will tell you which plan fits the course of care you have been offered.
Can diabetic neuropathy be treated without medication?
Symptoms can often be managed without adding a prescription, and many patients come to us because they disliked how nerve medication made them feel.
Blood sugar control is still the central task, and that stays with the physician managing your diabetes.
Drug-free care here targets the burning, the tingling, the balance and the sleep. It is a partner to your medical management rather than a substitute for it.
Do I need a referral, or should I see a neurologist?
No referral is needed to be examined here, and you can book directly at either office.
A neurologist is the right call when there is progressive weakness, or when symptoms are spreading quickly. The same goes for symptoms that are markedly one-sided, or a cause that has not been identified after a proper workup.
Those are cases we refer rather than treat, and Dr. Bergin will tell you that at the first visit.
What do the Japanese do for neuropathy?
This question usually comes from articles about acupuncture, mecobalamin, a form of vitamin B12 widely prescribed in Japan, and careful foot care.
B12 matters a great deal when a deficiency is the driver, and much less when it is not. Acupuncture has mixed evidence for nerve pain.
Daily foot care genuinely protects a numb foot from injury. None of it is a hidden answer being kept from American patients.
