The ChiroMed Journal

Longer answers to the questions patients actually ask, written for people deciding what to do next about a problem that has not gone away.

  • 28 articles
  • 22 years in practice
  • $47 new-patient exam

The ChiroMed Journal is where the longer explanations live. The care pages tell you what a treatment is and who it suits. The Journal is for everything that does not fit there: the anatomy, the decisions, the questions patients bring to Dr. Justin Bergin, DC after a consultation has already ended.

Before you act on anything written here, including by us, the U.S. National Library of Medicine explains how to judge health information: Evaluating Health Information, MedlinePlus.

Each care page on this site answers one set of questions: what the treatment is, who it is for, and what happens at the visit. That works when you already know what you are looking for.

The Journal is for everything else. The anatomy behind a diagnosis. Why two people with the same scan report need different plans. What a second opinion is worth when surgery has been raised. The questions patients ask Dr. Justin Bergin, DC on the way out of a consultation.

What the Journal Covers

Four threads run through most of it. Spine and disc problems, which is where the majority of our patients start. Nerve pain, including the kind that shows up in the feet and hands rather than where it originates. Joints, particularly knees and shoulders in people who have been told replacement is the only route left. Metabolic health too, because inflammation and weight change how all of the above behave.

Nothing here is a diagnosis and nothing replaces an examination. Chiropractic care is used mostly for pain, a point the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health sets out in its patient overview. Pain is a symptom with many possible causes. An article can tell you which questions to ask. It cannot tell you which one is yours.

Where to Read More

Each article points back to the page that explains the treatment it discusses. You can also go straight to the full list of conditions we treat. Or read about adjustment-based spinal care and what a visit involves. There are also the vitality and performance programs for men and women and the functional and holistic side of the practice.

You can also start from an overview of both Central Florida offices and work down from there.
