A surgeon has already told me the knee needs replacing. Is there any point coming here first?
It depends on the joint, not on the conversation you have already had. Where the surface is genuinely gone, pain wakes you at night and your walking distance has collapsed, a replacement is often the honest answer, and you will hear that from us. Where the joint is irritable rather than finished, conservative care has often never had a fair trial. The examination separates those two, and starting here rules nothing out later.
Does Medicare cover non-surgical knee care at the Lady Lake office?
Coverage varies by plan and by service, and nobody should give you a yes or a no over the phone. Device programs such as knee decompression and shockwave are generally self-pay. Where chiropractic care forms part of your knee plan, that portion may be billable. Bring your card to the first visit and ask the front desk to check it while you are sitting there. Getting out of the golf cart is the worst moment of my day. Does that mean the knee or the hip?
That movement loads the knee deeply and rotates the hip at the same time, so on its own it does not tell you which. What does tell you is what happens when each joint is tested on its own. If the knee reproduces nothing under load while the hip does, the knee has been the innocent party all along. Both get screened at your first visit for exactly this reason.
How do I reach you from Lake Sumter Landing without much walking at the other end?
Come up US-441 north and stay on it past the CR 466 junction; the office is a short run further along at 929 US-441, suite 404. Look for the suite number rather than a large sign. The parking is ground level a few steps from the door, so there is no garage, no lobby to cross and no stairs. If you are coming by cart, call ahead and the front desk will give you the crossing that is open at the moment.
