Why is this the one subject nobody here raises?
Neighbors will compare cardiologists over coffee and knee surgeons at the pool, then go quiet about this one.
So much of it ends up being handled by a website and a package in the post instead.
What does this side of the practice offer in its place?
This part of our Lady Lake practice exists to put an examination in front of that question. It is for men and for women, and it involves no prescription and no operation.
It happens at 929 US-441 #404, on an ordinary appointment, with the door shut.
Who asks about it, and what do they describe?
People ask about this here in their sixties, seventies and eighties.
What they describe is usually a gradual change rather than something they have lived with all their lives.
What we do at our Lady Lake office

What we are near
Where exactly on US-441 is the office?
You will find us on North US-441, a short distance above the CR 466 junction, in suite 404.
Parking is ground level and directly outside, with no ramp, no elevator and no stairs between the car and the door.
Can I come by golf cart?
Golf carts are a normal way to arrive at this address.
Routes and crossings change often enough that the front desk gives you the current one over the phone instead of us printing a guess.
Which of the town squares is closest?
Spanish Springs Town Square is the closest of the three squares to this address. Lake Sumter Landing is an easy drive, and Brownwood Paddock Square is the furthest.
Which towns and counties do patients drive in from?
The catchment runs across Sumter, Lake and Marion counties, taking in Lady Lake, Summerfield, Wildwood, Oxford, Fruitland Park and Leesburg.
Are you affiliated with the hospital or the college?
UF Health The Villages Hospital is close by, and the Lake-Sumter State College campus in Leesburg is a short drive. We hold no affiliation with either.
Which days does this office treat?
This office treats Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM and again from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Tuesday and Friday here are by appointment, and we are closed Saturday and Sunday.
Our Lakeland office keeps a schedule of its own, which you will find on the hours the Lakeland office keeps.
Our Lady Lake office is a short drive from the Lake-Sumter State College campus in Leesburg, and we serve the same tri-county community. We are not affiliated with the college.
ChiroMed is an independent practice. Naming nearby hospitals, colleges or landmarks describes where we are, not who we are affiliated with. There is no affiliation, partnership or endorsement of any kind.

Vitality and Wellness in The Villages questions
Tap a message for the honest answer. Call The Villages (352) 915-7150
Will anyone in the waiting room know why I am here?
No. The appointment is booked under the same appointment types as a back or a knee, the history is taken with the door closed, and the front desk does not discuss the reason for a visit in an open room. This office also sits on US-441 rather than inside a village, so getting here is not a walk past your own street. Patients come through this door for backs, knees, numb feet and weight, and nobody in the parking lot can tell which appointment anybody is keeping.
Can I be seen late in the afternoon at the Lady Lake office?
Yes, on the days this office treats. The afternoon session runs from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, with a morning session from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Tuesday and Friday here are by appointment, and we are closed Saturday and Sunday. Book off the Lady Lake hours rather than any other schedule you have seen for us. Call (352) 915-7150 and ask for the last slot of a session if a quieter room matters to you.
Will this be billed to Medicare or to my supplement plan?
No. Care on this side of the practice is self-pay, so nothing is submitted to Medicare, to a Medicare Advantage plan or to a supplement plan, and no statement about it arrives at your address. The cost of a course is given to you privately and in writing before anything begins. Chiropractic care at ChiroMed is different and does bill insurance, and if you are being treated for a back at the same time the two are handled separately.
Is there anything here for women, or is this a men's program?
Acoustic wave therapy is delivered here for women as well as for men, and the appointment is as private either way. What women raise here is discomfort, reduced sensitivity and the changes that follow menopause. Pelvic floor recovery is a separate program that sits with our disc and nerve rehabilitation care, and for some patients that is the better fit. The examination is what decides between them, and Dr. Bergin will tell you if the right person is your own gynecologist instead.
I take a nitrate for my heart. Does that rule me out?
It rules out the tablets, which is exactly why a number of men at this office ask about this care in the first place. Acoustic wave therapy involves no drug, so there is no interaction to weigh against a cardiac prescription. That does not make it automatically appropriate for you. Bring your full medication list to the examination, and if your heart has not been assessed recently you will be told to see your own physician before any course of care is discussed.
