Who brings a pregnancy to an office in a retirement town?
The area around this office is built for retirement, and most days the waiting room reflects that. The families who bring a pregnancy here live in the ring of working towns wrapped around it. They teach in these schools, staff the hospitals and run the businesses that keep the squares open.
When a back gives out at thirty weeks, the choice on offer is usually a long drive toward Ocala or nothing at all.
What changes after the first trimester?
After the first trimester the complaints change shape. Rolling over wakes you up. Standing at the sink turns into a negotiation. Getting out of the car becomes a two-stage manoeuvre with a hand on the door frame.
Who treats it, and inside whose boundaries?
Dr. Justin Bergin, DC treats the mechanical part of that at this address. The work is gentle, you are positioned properly, and it stays inside whatever boundaries your obstetric team has set.
What pregnancy chiropractic is
Pregnancy chiropractic is low-force, carefully positioned care for the joints of the spine, pelvis and hips during and after pregnancy. You lie on your side supported by cushions, never face down. A Doctor of Chiropractic uses gentle manual, drop-table or instrument methods along with soft-tissue work to reduce pain and get movement back.
Staying mobile helps, and that is the part most people lose. Regular activity is associated with lower rates of low back and pelvic girdle pain in pregnancy, yet pain makes movement unattractive, and the less you move the worse the loading becomes. Breaking that loop is the practical job here. You are set up side-lying on cushions with nothing pressing on your abdomen, and as the weeks go on the force scales down and instrument and drop-table methods become the default. No X-rays are taken at any point in a pregnancy.

Payment:
Chiropractic care at ChiroMed bills insurance, and our team verifies your benefits before your first visit. Coverage varies by plan and by service, and the front desk will tell you exactly what applies before you commit to anything. Call (352) 915-7150 and ask them to check it while they have you on the line. New patients can begin with the consultation, exam, X-rays if needed, and report of findings for $47, and the imaging is left out of that visit during a pregnancy. Payment plans are available for self-pay care. Ask the front desk which plan fits your course of care.

What we are near
Which building, and which door?
The suite is 404, in the building set back on the east side of North US-441 a little above the CR 466 junction.
Parking sits on the flat immediately outside the door, with no garage to circle, no elevator and no stairs. Pregnant patients ask about that at thirty-four weeks.
How far is the drive from Leesburg or Wildwood?
From the working towns it is a straightforward run. Leesburg is roughly ten miles to the south east, and Fruitland Park sits between the two.
Wildwood, Oxford and Summerfield come in along 441 or across the 466 corridor.
Which of the three town squares is closest?
Of the three town squares, Spanish Springs is closest to this door, Lake Sumter Landing a straightforward drive and Brownwood Paddock Square furthest out. Ocala National Forest sits about fifteen miles north.
Can I reach the office by golf cart?
Golf carts are how a good many patients reach this address, though rarely this group. The front desk explains the current cart route on the phone, since the paths keep changing.
Are you connected to the hospital or the college?
UF Health The Villages Hospital is nearby and the Lake-Sumter State College campus is a short drive toward Leesburg. We are not affiliated with either one.
Our Lady Lake office is a short drive from the Lake-Sumter State College campus in Leesburg, and we serve the same tri-county community. We are not affiliated with the college.
ChiroMed is an independent practice. Naming nearby hospitals, colleges or landmarks describes where we are, not who we are affiliated with. There is no affiliation, partnership or endorsement of any kind.

Patient experience at our Lady Lake office
Is there a prenatal review from the Lady Lake office?
Lady Lake is the newer of our two offices and its review base is still small.
No published review from this address mentions prenatal care, so there is no testimonial to show you here, and we are not going to move one across from Lakeland and let it read as local.
Where do pregnant patients travel in from?
Pregnant patients treated at this address drive in from Leesburg, Wildwood, Fruitland Park, Summerfield and Lady Lake itself, and the reason they come here rather than heading for a bigger city is the drive and the parking.

Your first visit
What to expect, step by step
The first appointment at Lady Lake is a conversation and an examination, not a treatment. Dr. Justin Bergin, DC asks how far along you are, what your pregnancy has been like and what the pain is stopping you doing, then explains what he found. This office treats Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, with Tuesday and Friday by appointment. Say which days work around your job and your commute.
Pregnancy Chiropractic in The Villages in recent research
These sources are independent of this practice and none of them endorses it. They are listed so the reasoning behind the care can be checked rather than taken on trust.
- Interventions for preventing and treating low-back and pelvic pain during pregnancy
Low quality evidence that exercise reduces pregnancy related low back pain, with single studies suggesting manual therapy may help pelvic pain. Evidence remains limited.

Tap a message for the honest answer. Call The Villages (352) 915-7150
Everyone I see going into that office looks retired. Do you actually treat pregnant patients here?
Yes, and the question is fair enough. The area immediately around this office is built for retirement and most of the caseload reflects that. The pregnancies we see come from the towns wrapped around it, mainly Leesburg, Wildwood, Fruitland Park, Summerfield and Lady Lake. Prenatal care is one of the three chiropractic services delivered at this address, the technique is the same low-force approach used with our older patients, and the appointment length is the same unhurried one.
I am in Leesburg. Is it worth driving up US-441 rather than heading toward Ocala?
Leesburg sits about ten miles south east of us, so for most of that side of Lake County this is the shorter trip by a considerable margin. The practical arguments are the parking and the door. You park on the flat immediately outside suite 404, there are no stairs and no garage to walk out of, and the appointment is long enough that you are not being rushed off the table. Those three things matter more in the third trimester than the mileage does.
Which days can I be seen, and how far ahead should I book?
This office treats Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM and again from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Tuesday and Friday are by appointment, and this office is closed Saturday and Sunday. That is a different pattern from our Lakeland office, which keeps its own days. Three treating days means fewer slots than a seven-day clinic, so book the next one as you leave rather than ringing in the week you need it. Call (352) 915-7150 and ask what is open.
Will you take X-rays of me?
No. No imaging is taken at any stage of a pregnancy at either office, and that includes the X-rays that normally form part of the $47 new-patient visit. They are simply left out and the rest of the examination goes ahead. If something in your history genuinely needs imaging, that is a conversation with the provider managing your pregnancy, not something we work around.
Do I need my obstetrician to refer me?
Florida does not require a referral to see a chiropractor, and most patients book directly. We do want your obstetric provider in the loop, and that matters more if you are carrying multiples, have been given a diagnosed complication, or are managing something like gestational diabetes or raised blood pressure. Bring any activity restriction you have been given and we work inside it. Where a case needs the two providers to speak, that is an easy phone call to make.
Can I bring my toddler with me?
Yes. Nobody here minds, and it is a fairly regular occurrence at this address. Parking is at ground level right outside the suite, so you are not crossing a parking lot or managing an elevator with a child and a bag. Postpartum visits are the same: bring the baby. Feeding posture, carrying a car seat on one side and a recovering abdominal wall produce their own set of complaints, and those are worth dealing with rather than waiting out.
